Resumen
Pollution generated by the inadequate disposal of solid waste is a problem that affects the world in general and what has grown year after year due to human and industrial development, therefore, this becomes a matter of vital global importance. to treat. According to the special administrative Unit of Public Services (UAESP), Bogotá generates more than 7,000 tons of chemical waste per day, of which, just over 50% corresponding to organic waste, followed by plastics, with a relevance more or less 17% (UASEP, 2017). One type of plastic that generates greater contamination and presents great disposal and use challenges is Expanded Polystyrene (EPS), which occupies around 100 times in volume for each kilogram in weight compared to other materials. It is estimated that around 500 tons of this element are discarded daily in the country (Draft Law 60 of 2019) and its rate of use is less than 1%. The Darnel - Ajover SA Company, as one of the largest producers of EPS in the country must guarantee greater environmental responsibility through the implementation of actions aimed at taking advantage of it to reduce the impact of EPS.
