Abstract

Concern about environmental conditions, quality of life and natural phenomena has been increasing. So the research has focused on the calculation of the carbon footprint, a tool used in order to quantify the amount of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) that are emitted into the atmosphere due to human activities in the Faculty of Sciences and Education. of the Francisco José de Caldas District University - Macarena A and B Headquarters, validity 2022-2023 based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis, collection of primary and secondary information bases and the study of the sources of direct and indirect emissions of Carbon Dioxide. Carbon. According to the results and their analysis, recommendations are proposed for improvement in the implementation of environmental policies and programs, considering that Higher Education Institutions must strive for an epistemological application in their faculties and/or projects that provide the possibilities and tools to execute a work plan to mitigate climate change.
