Resumen
The study developed during this research consisted of the students of the 9th grade of the main headquarters of the Vicente Roig and Villalba De Fonseca La Guajira Institution improving attitudes towards the management of inorganic solid waste through the implementation of an educational strategy. Currently in the Vicente Roig y Villalba Institution it is observed that students have difficulties to properly manage Inorganic Solid Waste which reflects an undesirable or prevailing environmental culture. To contribute to the improvement of this difficulty, a non-formal intervention unit was developed, that is, through it was not sought to generate approved and non-approved learning in a quantitative way, but to generate a process of transformation of attitudes of grade 9 students or changes in the way they interpret the management of solid waste in the institution. The intervention and management unit was carried out considering that there is no unification between the basic standards of competence issued by the Ministry of National Education with the learning criteria (DBA). This study was carried out with 90 students who correspond to three ninth grade groups of the main headquarters, it was carried out during three sequential stages for the collection of data. In stage one, a survey was applied with closed questions that allowed to determine the previous knowledge about Inorganic Solid Waste (RSI) and what was. In the second stage, a strategy was implemented where the students of the degree in mention for a period of 4 weeks collected, classified and analyzed the raw material of the packaging of the products that each one consumed during the week at home, then noted in a record table the weight of the material collected in each week. Finally, in the third stage, the Likert scale was applied, taking as a reference the studies of (Marcén et al, 2002). This instrument allowed to measure the attitudes of the students in relation to the management of inorganic solid waste. An attitude is the willingness of the human being to protect the environment for his own benefit and for the community at large. The methodology implemented in this project is of a social and didactic nature with a mixed approach (cuan-CUAL). The term culture of this project was not analyzed as a scenario of symbolic representations but as a practice since the concept is associated with Environmental Psychology, this determines that the fundamental to be able to establish appropriate behaviors simply needs the predisposition for change.
