Resumen
Urban and peri-urban agriculture is an agricultural technique that allows groups of people to benefit and can produce their own food with healthier characteristics and with an economic cost of production less than other farming techniques (Organization of the United Nations for Food and Agriculture, 2018); is a technique that is taking great importance in the cities, and that also allows to generate foci of social integration. This document shows how urban agriculture is used in the city of Bogotá, with the assistance of Botanical Garden of Bogotá (JBB), especially in educational institutions, where the objective is that the education processes young people understand the benefits of urban agriculture and thus replicate that information in their homes. The work is composed of three parts, the first is a photographic record of the gardens in the educational institutions assisted by the JBB, the second is the development of a list of plant species that by their characteristics are suitable for cultivation in the city of Bogotá, and the last one is the compilation of research works related to the JBB on urban agriculture.
