Abstract

The Solanaceae family of cosmopolitan distribution, including about 100 genera and more than 2723 species for Colombia 32 genera, with 405 species, characterized mainly as herbs, vines, shrubs or trees, alternate leaves, simple leaves with margin whole, anisofilia present, glabrescent to pubescent, with unpleasant characteristic odour, all floral whorls, sepals and petals pentámeros, starry or campanulate, poricid or longitudinal dehiscence, berry or capsule fruit, seeds Reniform usually. Through this work it is hoped to contribute to the floristic knowledge in the Solanaceae family for the region of the Capital district with morphological descriptions, distribution and self-ecology, representative material and a key for the genera of the family and keys Generic, for this data were collected from specimens stored in the herbariums of the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden (JBB) and the National Herbarium of Colombia (COL), such as anatomical measurement and label information, each name was confronted with Herbal material and specialized literature in order to obtain a list of the solanaceous present in Bogotá. This treatment comprises the genera of which there are only records of naturalized species, excluding Cestrum and Solanum, which may represent complications by presenting many difficult-to-differentiate species or oversimplifying the work For genera that only have one species and do not require the elaboration of generic keys, 20 genera, and 30 species were recorded, of which 13 genera (Brugmansia, Capsicum, Datura, Jaltomata, Lycianthes, Nicotiana, Nierembergia, Physalis, Salpichroa , Streptosolen, Sessea, and 21 species are native or naturalized, for this work of discarding the genera (Browallia, Brunfelsia, Petunia, Nicandra, Monist, Iochroma, Schultesianthus) because they are only cultivated in Parks and Gardens, between streets, universities, malls, interior gardens, for their ornamental use, and genera (Deprea, Dunalia, Juanulloa, Witheringia) considered probable for the Capital district
