Resumen
This work proposes to answer the question of how to construct a criterion for the interpretation of a given repertoire. I am convinced that a good technical level and the advice of a teacher are not enough to achieve a high interpretative level. In addition to these indispensable requirements, it is necessary to acquire knowledge about musical forms, ornamentation, and historical aspects related to the conception of the work, since all this knowledge and others that will be treated in this work constitute what I call an independent interpretative criterion. During my years of training in the musical arts curriculum project of the ASAB arts faculty, I always wondered about which aspects I should take into account as a performer when constructing a criterion for the interpretation of the works that were proposed to me within the study program. I frequently stumbled upon the fact that there were no clear guidelines for establishing interpretative criteria when approaching different styles. I understood that the interpretation of a work should contemplate not only emotional aspects but should also be based on strong arguments not only of a theoretical analytical type but also stylistic, idiomatic, and historical. It is common, not only in ASAB but in many other musical study programs, for students to accept without question all the interpretative criteria provided by their teachers. This prevents these students from developing their own convictions about how a certain repertoire should be interpreted. Thus, in the quest to become a truly integral musician, I decided to undertake this work with the purpose of investigating all those aspects that I should consider in order to carry out an interpretation with criterion.
