Resumen
Based on the experiences and ideas about rural environment transmitted by oral traditions from generation to generation, 23 fourth graders of I.E.D. El Destino (Usme), were part of the group in which the authors, conducted their teaching practice through the design and development of a school garden, built with the purpose of highlighting the ideas about medicinal plants in the region have children. During the process were strengthened in children dialogue, respect, recognition of opinion, trust, collective work, the expression of their ideas and articulating them with the expertise that llowed carry out from of which generated reflections about the importance of such expressions and the way in which the rural context has a special connotations that make children look differently the field as food pantry and as a resource necessary not only for but to other surrounding environment as the city of Bogota and the country in general.
