Resumen
Water erosion, a phenomenon of great environmental relevance worldwide, represents a significant challenge for the quality and sustainability of natural resources, especially in vulnerable areas such as the Municipality of Guatavita. Since 2016, a comprehensive update of the areas most affected by this type of soil degradation in the region has not been carried out. This research aims to fill this knowledge gap by providing an updated and accurate assessment of the water erosion situation in Guatavita. To achieve this, advanced tools will be used such as the RUSLE model (Regulation of Surface Land Erosion) and geographic information systems (GIS), allowing the precise identification of the most vulnerable areas. Those responsible for land and natural resource management will be able to use this information to establish appropriate regulations and promote sustainable land management practices, resulting in soil conservation and more efficient use of resources.
