Resumen
This master’s thesis addresses the structuring of a Project Management Office (PMO) in the Colombian electric power sector with the purpose of improving project management aimed at achieving operational efficiency and regulatory compliance in low-voltage power distribution network construction processes. Through a review of the literature, existing models, and the selection of methodologies specific to the sector, the PMO is established by structuring standardized processes and risk management strategies in order to enhance both project and organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Key concepts of project management, benefits management, best practices, and general regulatory parameters applicable to the Colombian electric sector are analyzed. Finally, methods for monitoring, control, and evaluation are proposed in terms of project efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability, validated through a case study involving an electrical network construction company in Colombia.
