Abstract

The basis of the calculation of the thermal load comes from the existence of a correlation with the fire resistance required to the building elements of the premises that must contain the combustible materials. The justification is based on the time that can last the combustion of these combustible materials, which becomes a requirement of time of resistance to fire to prevent the spread of the fire to other adjoining areas. The area protected by constructive elements with specific characteristics so that the fire does not spread, is called the sector or fire compartment. (Seysa Axa Colpatria, 2015). For fire protection and to define the efficient system, it comprises a set of conditions or variables that must be taken into account regarding the structural condition and purpose of the spaces to be occupied.
