Resumen
This monograph allows to analyze and publicize 6 models of ecological bricks made with a mixture of cement, water and fine aggregate, which is replaced in different percentages by recycled plastic (PET), material that gives them a friendly sense with the environment by contributing to the reuse of a highly polluting material such as plastic. The percentages to be replaced in the amount of aggregate by PET are: 15%, 30%, 45%, 60%, 75% and 90%, these selected according to a proportional increase and the lack of investigations with these same percentages.
The methodology used is divided into a part of research and analysis of previous related studies, and an experimental part to evaluate the properties acquired by each model. So this project is based on experimental designs already executed, which allowed the choice of a dosage designed by the Simplex method with results similar to those expected, in order to have the security of obtaining similar values. Six representative samples of each percentage of PET are produced, of which to three are evaluated the compressive strength, while to the other three are determined density, absorption and measurement variation properties.
The results obtained on the mechanical physical properties of the proposed models, affirm the expected and is that the models of 15%, 30%, 45% and 60% meet the requirements established in the NTC 4076, that is, with the properties for non-structural concrete units, as they have a strength greater than 6 Mpa, absorption less than 18%, measurement difference not exceeding 2 mm for length, and 1% for thickness and for height. In addition, they turn out to adopt some other properties such as light weight, accessibility to people and a real ecological contribution thanks to the difference of the manufacturing process and the materials used.
