Resumen
The text presents a research focused on understanding the experiences of two peace signatories who lived through the negotiation process in La Habana and their reintegration into civilian life after being part of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). The main objective is to explore how these narratives can contribute to peace education. The research employs a qualitative approach and applies Marieta Quintero's Proposal of Hermeneutic Narrative Research (PINH) to interpret the narratives of the ex-combatants. The armed conflict in Colombia has left deep wounds and divisions in society, making it essential to comprehend the experiences of ex-combatants in the peace process for achieving proper reintegration and building lasting peace. The stigmatization of ex-combatants as "good" or "bad" represents a significant obstacle to their reintegration and perpetuates social inequality. The research aims to break free from these prejudices and allow the voices and perspectives of ex-combatants to be heard in order to promote mutual understanding and overcoming differences.
The Peace Agreement of La Habana, signed in 2016, marked a historic milestone in the armed conflict, seeking to put an end to armed confrontation and lay the foundations for stable peace. However, the reintegration of ex-combatants faces complex challenges due to the lack of trust and the marginalization they experience. The construction of a negative social image about them hinders their integration into society. Therefore, the research considers that the narratives of ex-combatants can contribute to the construction of a collective narrative of reconciliation and peace, recognizing the value of their commitment to transformation and social reconstruction. The importance of community involvement in the reintegration process is highlighted, and the research seeks to understand how participation and strengthening of community bonds can contribute to the construction of lasting peace. The narratives of the peace signatories help identify specific needs of ex-combatants and design support programs that promote effective reintegration, as well as continue to contribute to their political purposes in a peaceful and legal manner.
Inclusive political participation of ex-combatants is vital to strengthen the democratic system and enrich public debate with diverse perspectives and experiences. In conclusion, the research emphasizes the importance of listening to and understanding the experiences of ex-combatants to achieve proper reintegration and build sustainable peace. The narratives of the peace signatories provided valuable insights for peace education, fostering understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation in Colombian society. Furthermore, they allow identifying potential improvements in future peace processes and the construction of support programs for the reintegration of ex-combatants. Education plays a fundamental role in this process, promoting a culture of peace, cultivating democratic values, and fostering social inclusion and respect for human rights and diversity.
