Resumen
This internship was carried out in collaboration with the José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden of Bogota (JBBJCM), in the framework of the Environmental Social Service (SSA) program, which seeks to promote good environmental practices, guiding students from different educational institutions, to the formulation and implementation of environmental initiatives, focusing on thematic areas such as: biodiversity, climate change, vegetation cover and water use. The present work is intended to serve as support to the professionals of the JBBJCM for the orientation and environmental education of the students of the different educational institutions in which the SSA program is developed. Focused on the importance of conserving the native fauna of the Bogotá savanna, the objective of this work was to guide students in the elaboration of environmental initiatives that raise awareness in the community about the problem of exotic invasive species in the Bogotá savanna, encouraging in them a process of problematization and reflection on the environmental impacts that these species have on ecosystems and native biodiversity. Raising awareness among the population of Bogota could be a great step to face this problem, since most biological invasions are the result of human activities such as fish farming, agriculture, or the indiscriminate release of exotic species in ecosystems where they do not belong (Gutiérrez, 2006). The pedagogical proposal was carried out under the approach of meaningful learning, since it seeks that the knowledge acquired by the students can go beyond the classroom, and can be used in their daily life, reflecting on this issue as a problem that affects their close and daily environment.
