Resumen
The degradation of natural resources due to mining extraction leads to a reduction in the supply of environmental goods and services, as in the case of the old Soratama quarry, where the process of ecological restoration carried out under the guidelines of the Manual for the ecological restoration of disturbed ecosystems of the Capital District has allowed the recovery of said environmental services and the development of one of the most important environmental education strategies: the Soratama Environmental Classroom, which allows connectivity between the city and the eastern hills, providing a space where it can be contrasted with different exploitation scenarios and promote the importance of ecological restoration, care and preservation of biodiversity. The present work systematized the experience of the ecological restoration implemented in the old Soratama quarry as an environmental education strategy of the Capital District, reflecting its progress in the restoration of the classroom and evidencing the successes and aspects to be improved within the classroom.
