Resumen
The measurement of liquid flow in the country lacks an entity that provides reliable interoperation services and that can provide adequate training in this type of measurement. The INM volume laboratory has recognized these shortcomings and has proposed the implementation of a liquid flow laboratory that can facilitate the assurance of the traceability of these measurements, which allows making the inter comparisons required by the country's laboratories (which may also be required by the Colombian National Accreditation Body (ONAC) in the laboratory accreditation process) and which allows the training of any interested person. There are two primary methods for liquid flow measurement: the gravimetric method, the volumetric measurement method; both methods require the same base infrastructure and for both methods the INM has the appropriate infrastructure for their implementation. Although the gravimetric method is the primary method with the highest hierarchy, the INM considers it appropriate to develop a study on the benefits, the levels of uncertainty and also the possible inconveniences and obstacles in the implementation of the volumetric measurement method, with the purpose of choosing the method. best to implement.
