Resumen
The gospel music has been linked to the African-American Christian church, therefore the influence of this religion on its musical development is remarkable. Christianity was imposed by the Americans and Europeans on the African population since the times of slavery. That's why the gospel music, has become the symbol of an entire culture that suffered a great repression, and from there, a religious movement was generated based on the conscience of the afro collective, hope and their desire for "freedom". This work traces the history of the religious musical canons, which represent the faith of a whole population that develops in the times of slavery, and that was very important during the nineteenth century, to now. Songs of those who were accustomed to living in the middle of the "tribulation" and to recover from the difficulty.
