Resumen
The main objective of the following monograph is to develop a practical welding inspection guide based on the guidelines of AWS Standard D1.1: Structural Steel Welding Code, for specific application in the welding workshop of the Technological Faculty of the Francisco Jose de Caldas District University. This guide seeks to standardize visual inspection and non-destructive testing procedures to ensure the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of welded joints produced in the academic and training environment, following the guidelines of AWS Standard B1.11. The project was developed in several stages, including a diagnosis of the workshop's condition, a technical review of AWS Standard D1.1, identification of the most common welding processes in the workshop, and finally, the development of a teaching guide with acceptance and rejection criteria based on inspection formats, required and available tools, along with operational recommendations. The result is a tool that is easy to understand and apply to students and faculty. It provides a better understanding of regulatory requirements and strengthens the technical skills in welding inspection for technologists and engineers adapting to the workplace. The guide directly contributes to quality assurance in manufacturing and training projects conducted at the school, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professionalism in the welding field.
