Apoyo al desarrollo de iniciativas de reducción de emisiones por deforestación y degradación (REDD+)

Abstract

This paper provides detailed information on the development of some key chapters within the elaboration of REDD+ projects, highlighting their holistic and sustainable approach. The document specifically focuses on the Embera Wounaan and Awia Tuparro +9 projects, which aim to reduce deforestation and forest degradation and promote sustainable forest management. It analyzes the eligibility and additionality of the projects, ensuring their viability within the territory. Similarly, it identifies the agents of deforestation and forest degradation within the project region, in order to consolidate the reference region and leakage belt, essential areas for the elaboration of REDD+ projects. Finally, activities based on social dynamics are designed and the environmental and socio-economic risks and impacts are evaluated, considering proposals for community development, in order to generate mitigation measures that counteract the negative effects on the environment and local communities.
