Resumen
The purpose of this degree project is to analyze three Latin Jazz compositions with electronic elements from the musical duet Agbayé, made up of multi-percussionist Joel Márquez and keyboardist Rubén Aragón. The center of this document is the analysis of the harmonic, melodic, rhythmic and timbral elements that make the keyboards in these three pieces. In turn, they talk about the primary rhythms on which the songs were based, which are: the Joropo, the Currulao and the Guagancó. In the same way, the use of the electronic elements used in Agbayé duet is explained: Synthesizers, Samples and a Looper for live sessions. The intention of this work is to show how the elements of Currulao, Joropo and Guaguancó can be linked with the electronic - which in this particular case is made by the Synthesizer, the Looper and Samples; Synthesized basses played live are included, in order to explain how this convergence between rhythms can be achieved and include “new” sounds such as scratchs, synthesized basses, loops, leads, sound effects, among others.
