Abstract

The function of the District Secretary of the Environment is to ensure the articulation and adequate planning of all institutions in favor of the sustainable development of the territories, where it is mainly sought to establish the appropriate guidelines and tools that strengthen the commitments and the correct actions for the fulfillment of objectives within the Environmental Management Plans and the existing Action Plans and therefore the improvement in the quality of life of the population and ecosystems in general. The purpose of the Sub-Directorate of Environmental Policies and Plans is to provide efficient environmental planning and the coordination of actions that allow for programming within the environmental agenda that is constantly updated given the changes that occur both in the environment and in the thinking and actions of society. This document reflects the compilation of information necessary for the updating of the District Water Plan, which includes the current regulations, the instruments of territorial planning, the applicability of the right to the city, the best practices for water management and knowledge acquired in the visits to the Muisca councils of the District. During the internship, the digital archive of the sub-directorate was also managed and actions were carried out aimed at evidencing the veracity of the current situation in environmental matters and the applicability of the concepts taught within the Environmental Administration career, through the updating of instruments and interaction with communities and native peoples.
