Resumen
The following report seeks to recognize the impact on the intrinsic motivation of 12 and 13-year-old female students from a bilingual school in Bogotá, Colombia through the design, implementation, and evaluation of a STEAM-based didactic unit that incorporates Project Based Learning, from a sociocritical perspective. For this, a DEXPLIS mixed methods research design was used (Hernández, R., Fernández, F. and Baptista, P, 2014) where the Harter Scale (1986) adapted by Dávila, Ponce, Estrada and Ronquillo (2020) was used as a pre test and post test instrument, while qualitatively 5 categories of deductive axial analysis were decanted. Transversally, the design of the didactic unit presented Lola, a guide puppy who is in a situation of disability and seeks to improve her quality of life. In addition, graphic organizers are used (McKnight, 2010). Finally, it presents a triangulation of the qualitative and quantitative data, to conclude that the motivational change of the students was statistically significant.
