Resumen
The Fuquene Lagoon is one of the main bodies of fresh water of the Northern Andes, gives rise to the Suarez River, the main water source of the municipality of Chiquinquirá.Due to the great impact that this water source has had in the last 50 years, an elementary study of the flood pulses was carried out, evaluating the daily records of water levels since 1967. The historical daily levels were analyzed, using probabilistic methods resulting in permanence curves that indicate how many continuous days a flood warning can persist for the different water levels in the lagoon, the months that have the highest probability of flooding in the year were also determined. The study was carried out with the objective of revealing information about flood levels of threat, allowing identification; number of flood pulses, frequency of flooding, probability of remaining of the flood, identification of the months with the highest probability of flooding in the year
