Se estableció la línea base de fenología y se realizó la identificación taxonómica de algunas
de las especies presentes en el Tropicario del Jardín Botánico de Bogotá. Las observaciones
fenológicas se llevaron a cabo en 27 familias y 78 especies vegetales, determinando tres
fenofases: botón floral, floración y fructificación. Estas observaciones se realizaron
quincenalmente durante un periodo de cinco meses a partir de dos métodos: uno cualitativo y
otro cuantitativo, los cuales fueron aplicados dependiendo de la cantidad de individuos por
especie; la información colectada fue registrada en un formato de toma de datos.
Posteriormente, se observó si existe sincronía del comportamiento fenológico entre las
especies presentes en el Tropicario y las colectadas en el Herbario Nacional Colombiano, con
el fin de analizar si existen diferencias fenológicas entre las especies conservadas ex situ con
las conservadas in situ. La identificación taxonómica se realizó en 9 especies, con la ayuda
de claves especializadas, con la colección de muestras del Herbario Nacional Colombiano, y
con la asesoría del biólogo Javier Garzón Venegas.
Finalmente, esta investigación pretende aumentar el conocimiento sobre el desarrollo y
comportamiento de las especies que se encuentran en el Tropicario del jardín Botánico de
Bogotá y contribuir al posterior desarrollo de un calendario floral.
