Análisis de prefactibilidad para la creación de empresa dedicada a la línea de producción y comercialización de aceite de ricino para el sector farma-cosmetico, incentivando la agroindustria colombiana

Abstract

Colombia is among the largest producers of castor oil in Latin America followed by Brazil, potentially attractive oil due to its different properties and characteristics that stand out in the current market, "Castor oil has a wide variety of applications in industry such as, for example: in the composition of paints, varnishes, cosmetics, therapeutic products, lubricants and jet fuels, plastics, nylon, etc. The properties of this oil for the production of biodiesel are currently being studied. The main consumers of castor oil are the developed countries that use this product as an input for the chemical industry”. Regarding cannabis, Colombia is among the two largest cannabis producers, which is why the country has a competitive advantage to enter new markets "Colombia, Mexico and Paraguay are the main producers in the region, while other countries, such as Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Uruguay, Chile, Venezuela and Costa Rica have a minor or average production, which mainly serves to supply the domestic market. Knowing this market opportunity and the potential of the pharmaceutical-cosmetic sector, it is important to meet the demand. The Colombian industry has a good reputation to enter as a strong competitor, since clients who keep in mind the properties of castor oil; currently the trend is growing in terms of organizations that are adopting its use for the cosmetic and industrial part. Indeed, a pre-feasibility analysis will be carried out for the creation of a company dedicated to the castor oil production and commercialization line, encouraging the Colombian agro-industry, through analysis and/or practical and theoretical techniques divided into phases of generalities, market analysis, model business, technical study and financial analysis. The study is intended to be carried out covering the productive line, that is, from the purchase of the crop with the supplier and finally the commercialization of processed castor oil. In the market analysis, the good practices and business model of the cannabis industry will be adapted, so that the cannabis industry is complemented with castor oil, in order to encourage agro-industries or small farmers to grow castor beans. Ultimately, the expected result is a viable and profitable study, in order to size up and venture into a growing industry.
