Resumen
The deepening work seeks to determine the impact on the development of problem-solving skills according to Polya's theory. The strategy implemented was "ECO-STEM". This was developed with ninth grade students from the Capitán Miguel Lara Educational Institution in Puerto López - Meta. Based on Polya's proposal (1965), the “ECO-STEM” strategy is designed and implemented through the vertical orchards project. The strategy is divided into seven stages: classify organic waste, design compost bins, implement composting, build vertical structure, planting, build conventional irrigation system and automatic irrigation system. Each stage is made up of the states: problem statement, research, support, feedback, construction, and ICT practice. Problem-solving skills were evaluated according to the four phases of Polya's (1965) proposal: understanding the problem, designing the solution plan, executing the plan, and evaluating the plan.
