Resumen
In some regions of Colombia, such as Leticia in the Amazon, Capurgana in Choco and even in the archipelago of San Andres, there are multiple inconveniences when it comes to having basic services at home, such as water, sewage, sanitation, natural gas and electricity. This is particularly evident in the non-interconnected zones (ZNI), which are populations that are not connected to the national interconnected system (SIN) and have limited hours of electric energy service, which is essential for technical and technological development.
The municipality of Carurú is located in the department of Vaupés, Colombia, a population that is part of the ZNI of the country, with a daily average of service provision of a little more than 11 hours and that due to its location has a natural wealth such as the wide river that borders its boundaries, the Vaupés River.
Due to the lack of energy, in the case of the municipality of Caruru, a study was conducted to determine the consumption and usable characteristics of the Vaupés River, with the help of IDEAM data, the DANE census, projection and current information of the municipality, among other documents, a type of turbine was selected according to the variability of the river and other environmental factors, in order to take advantage of the power of this river.
By means of design parameters, it was possible to project the dimensions and perform a cost analysis of what makes up the rotor of the Gorlov hydrokinetic turbine. The results achieved will help to give an advance in the manufacture in real time of a turbine in the future for the territory of Caruru, Vaupes or perhaps for some other ZNI with similar hydric characteristics.
