Resumen
Seismic exploration is the most widely used procedure in the world to obtain the stratigraphy of the subsoil. This procedure involves the detection of acoustic waves generated by an artificial source, which propagate depending on the elasticity of the structures to refract or reflect and be captured by high sensitivity equipment called geophones. This equipment receives and transmits this information via wired or wireless to an information center where it is stored, processed and interpreted in order to determine the possible geological failures of the subsoil where hydrocarbons are generally deposited. It is necessary to clarify that within the seismic process different stages are developed, but the most relevant phases are those of topography, drilling and registration, without ignoring the important management of other complementary processes that help to obtain the main objective of the study.
The central theme of the monograph is the description of the topographic processes that are developed in a seismic exploration program and the need to implement a highly reliable, specific software that guarantees the quality, efficiency and accuracy of the topographic data that are daily obtained by the different topography groups.
The main objective of the elaboration of this work is to present topographic information processing in the Gpseismic software in its different modules, the variety of tools for conventional method, RTK, cartography and databases among others; and try to implement part of these procedures in working and professional life guaranteeing reliability, efficiency in the procedures and control of large volumes of topographic information that will allow analysis and decision making.
