Resumen
The project “Mawé: Prototype of a Mobile App for the Strengthening of Short Agri-Food Circuits” develops a technological proposal aimed at improving food security and sovereignty in Bogotá through the design of a mobile application prototype that directly connects producers and consumers of urban, peri-urban, and agroecological gardens. The initiative seeks to reduce intermediation, promote fair trade, recover traditional practices such as bartering, and foster community participation around responsible food production and consumption. The prototype was designed under the User-Centered Design (UCD) methodology, which made it possible to identify the real needs of stakeholders and translate them into key functionalities such as profile management, product catalogs, user messaging, and a georeferenced map of gardens. The interface was conceived to be accessible on low-range devices, culturally relevant, and aligned with local and national food security policies. The usability evaluation, based on the ISO/IEC 25010 standard, showed high levels of effectiveness, efficiency, and user satisfaction, validating its relevance as a tool for community and environmental strengthening. Looking ahead, the project envisions developing the functional code, carrying out pilot tests in the field, incorporating environmental and agroecological education modules, and integrating geospatial analytics to support local food system planning.
