Resumen
This paper presents the evolution of research on agroforestry and silvopastoral systems in Colombia from the review of scientific or academic publications reported in a 20-year time window between 2000 and 2019. The Grounded Theory has been the methodological instrument of this research, where by means of theoretical saturation an increase in the number of publications was found from the year 2015, thanks to a coding process the existence of an inclination towards research on agroforestry systems is determined above silvopastoral systems, finding that research carried out according to productivity and soil conditions are the main topics of research on agricultural systems of combined production in Colombia. In addition, the reports were categorized according to the level of investigation reached in each one, finding that the highest percentage of investigations are explanatory (40%) and descriptive (30%), demonstrating that it is necessary to delve more deeply and usefully into the investigation. The results allow establishing a starting point to guide research in this field, they turn out to be a basic tool to advance the innovation of these systems and open the doors to the inspiration and dissemination of new ideas.
