Resumen
The ability of an organization to respond to the needs of the market is directly related to the company's internal processes. These processes can be strategic or operational level. However, the strategic processes are aimed at achieving the corporate vision of the company, while the operational processes are more linked to fulfilling the rationale of the organization (the mission). This document relates a study developed in the company DULCES LA AMERICANA SAS (Americandy), which is focused on identifying the main problems present in the production chain of the company, from the moment of arrival of the materials until the delivery of the finished product to storage warehouses, these problems are in the existing reprocesses in the system, inventory management in processes and installed machinery. In the area of Punching and cooking, the present bottleneck is identified, since it limits the installed capacity of the plant. Additionally, a redesign proposal is presented according to the identified bottleneck, which aims to optimize resources, expanding monthly production capacity, with an estimated investment affordable to the company's investment budget and which allows to cover with the increase in the projected demand.
