Resumen
In the present research, a descriptive study was carried out, with the objective of characterizing the students of the faculty, with the aim of establishing relationships and characteristics that may influence the personal, academic and professional development of the student. This was done through a systematic review of the literature with which variables were defined and a data collection instrument was developed. Finally, the analysis of the information collected shows that economic and mental health factors are of great relevance in academic life and some recommendations are presented for institutional welfare and the university in general to make decisions and create strategies that make the student's experience more enriching. It is found that the services and the role of welfare acquire greater importance as the student advances in his career; however, it is evident that in academic flexibility, schedules and university environment there are opportunities for improvement.
