Resumen
The Administrative Department for Social Prosperity is an entity of the National Government focused on the sector of social inclusion and reconciliation, which is responsible for the formulation, coordination, implementation and evaluation of public policies that contribute to social, economic and environmental justice for the construction of Total Peace; prioritizing the attention to population in poverty and vulnerability, within the entity is the Operations Subdirectorate Unit, training and socialization on the Zero Waste Management system both centrally and in the 33 regions with which the entity has; This internship was developed in the Administrative Department for Social Prosperity, specifically in the Operations Sub-Directorate, with the objective of accompanying the implementation of the international Zero Waste standard, version 5, through participation in various activities, such as waste weighing, staff training and monitoring of indicators, which contributed to the consolidation of a culture of sustainable management in the entity; the methodology used was based on direct observation of processes, data collection, information analysis and participation in work meetings. during the internship, the main challenges and opportunities in the implementation of the standard were identified, such as the need to strengthen the environmental culture among employees and the optimization of the data recording processes; as a result of this experience, significant progress was made in the implementation of the Global Zero Waste standard, such as updating procedures, improving waste separation at the source and developing digital tools for information management; likewise, areas for improvement were also identified, such as the need to strengthen the monitoring of indicators and the promotion of greater participation of employees in environmental initiatives; this internship allowed us to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in the academic training to a real context, developing skills in environmental management, data analysis and teamwork. In addition, acquiring valuable experience in the public sector and contributing to the achievement of the entity's sustainability objectives; the bond that is generated between Social Prosperity and the student is of great value for both parties since the student has the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired in their training as well as the experience received, and the entity benefits from a collaborator with a lot of energy and desire to face the challenges they will face in the labor market.
