Resumen
The ophidian accident is a frequent occurrence that represents a relevant public health problem in Colombia. So far in Colombia the use of GIS has not been comprehensively encouraged to visualize and analyze the magnitude of snakebite accidents. As part of the efforts to improve and integrate tools in the prevention, management and surveillance of ophidian accidents in the country, this work aims to develop a geo-viewer that allows the visualization and consultation of the incidences of snake bites throughout over the years, the identification of critical areas with the highest ophidian risk, as well as the spatial distribution of health posts that have the antivenom supply that guides the territorial entities both in decision-making and in the development of policies more effective intervention, prevention, high impact control and antidote distribution in populations susceptible to aggression.
