Abstract

The worsening of their mental health is a regrettable reality lived by teachers in Colombia, no matter the context where they work, either public or private. There are multiple causes, such as harassment, unpaid overtime, ignorance of workplace legislation, fraught familial relationships, stress, economic worries, unresolved personal aspects stemming from childhood, and the effects on society are worrying, consistent with the lack of interest shown by the institutions where teachers work. In this case, life stories bring comfort to those subjects who need to express themselves and to liberate themselves from tensions arising from their labour teaching, from their personal lives and everything that, for years, they have carried with them and their inner child.
