Abstract

This paper focuses on designing a plan for integrated waste management in the College Manuel del Socorro Rodriguez, this oriented to the environment depends on the instruction given to the new generations. Currently the institution does not have such a plan and considers that this is necessary to ensure the welfare of the health of the entire educational community and encourage proper waste management in order to preserve the environment and improve the quality of life. Today what is regulated for educational institutions is: in Decree 1743 of 1994 by which the Environmental Education Project, which establishes an institutional project where the managers responsible are the rector and a respective environmental committee integrated instituting representatives of teachers and students; PIGA - - the draft agreement 110 of 2010 of the council of Bogota by which the Institutional Environmental Management Plan is implemented in Schools Public Network of the Capital District (in the base document for the formulation, coordination, implementation , evaluation, control and monitoring of institutional environmental management plan -PIGA of the district Department of environment to 5 programs proposed within which waste management is included) However as mentioned in the same agreement "exists currently the PIGA for the Ministry of Education but there is no PIGA for each of the educational institutions.
