Resumen
In this paper, the different meanings of happiness of a group of preteens, seventh grade students, aged between 12 and 16 who are immersed in different family and school problems that permeate their perception of reality are addressed. The methodology is qualitative and both written and graphic techniques. Authors such as Moscovici, Jodelet, Abric and Araya are used to find information about happiness, its field of representation and the figurative core. As a result, the latter turns out to be "an attitude towards life" that develops within the field of representation formed by family, friends, personal interests and the life project. It follows that the transition stage of puberty in a conflictive environment serves as motivation for young people to consider life from the perspective of optimism that maintains happiness as that attitude that allows them to overcome the challenges of each day.
