Resumen
The growing implementation of FTTP networks in the country, requires the existence of qualified personnel to perform technical tasks, installation and maintenance of the infrastructure required for the operation of services. Being a relatively modern implementation there are not many tools that collaborate for training in universities and telecommunications companies. The existing software in the market is limited, expensive and mostly oriented to design without placing greater emphasis on the elements that make up the network. It is desired to implement software that simulates the external plant structure of an FTTP network, explaining the elements that intervene and the power losses presented by wiring distances, splicing and connection of devices, evaluating an optical link budget. It is expected that the implemented simulator is a tool that facilitates technical training in FTTP networks in both business and educational environments, complementing a good practice for an optimal understanding of the external plant of an FTTP network.
