Resumen
This book presents the results of the research project “Development of a warm asphalt mixture under technical and environmental criteria”, which was financed by the Scientific Research and Development Center (CIDC) of the Francisco José de Caldas District University. The study sought to develop an environmentally friendly asphalt mixture that would experience rheological, mechanical and durability properties similar to or superior to those of traditional asphalt concrete mixtures. For this purpose, the physical-mechanical and rheological response experienced by a warm asphalt mixture developed in the laboratory was evaluated, using a liquid chemical additive called HUSIL. This additive foams Colombian asphalt at temperatures close to 80°C, which allows the manufacturing temperature to be reduced and facilitates the coating of the asphalt with stone aggregates at lower temperatures. Within the document, the reader will find the conceptual framework and the state of knowledge on the topic of study, the methodology used during the execution of the project, the results and analysis of the study carried out, the conclusions and the bibliographic sources consulted and referenced.
