Resumen
For our graduation project, we want to build life stories in order to approach the everyday problems left by the armed conflict among some members of the San Lorenzo de Caldono Indigenous Council in Cauca. Based on what is collected, we aim to create an audiovisual product that not only documents the events but also reflects, conveys, and has a human focus on the personal experiences behind each victim and what is currently happening within the community. As a challenge, we seek to explore the narratives of the victims of the armed conflict without falling into revictimization, that is, not causing added pain to the traumatic experiences they lived through at that time. Therefore, the audiovisual product aspires to be documented authentically according to each participant's perspective. We are aware of the invisibility that has been given to the management in the collection and presentation of these narratives, which is why we consider the impact it can have on the emotional well-being of the victims and the public perception of the community. It is important to raise awareness and avoid the stigmatization of the Nasa Indigenous community, which has historically been affected by many types of aggression, with armed violence being the main one. Thus, contributing to the understanding of how to approach this process ethically is necessary to avoid revictimization. This project can be used as a tool for memory construction, so it is important not to overlook the effects produced on the victim when treated insensitively. Consequently, we want to propose a precedent that serves journalists and the general community in handling these investigations that seek to preserve the truth, with clear guidelines promoting a respectful and compassionate approach. This change in journalistic practice could result in a more informed and empathetic perception by the public, helping to dismantle stereotypes and stigmas. In terms of interaction, we seek active and respectful participation with the community to approach their narratives of the events, which are key elements for the success of this initiative that aims to shed light on the problems that have left scars on this community.
