Resumen
The organization of the International Baccalaureate (IB), founded since 1968, offers an educational cycle that consists of three programs for students from three to nineteen years old. In Colombia, this cycle has been offered in certain educational institutions for thirty years, but, despite its age, it is still an unknown field in education sectors. Interasesores S.A. has begun the implementation of the Diploma Program (PD), and has its three approved schools to offer it. From the teaching of natural sciences, in teaching practice, I have found myself facing a change in the teaching model and the participation of students in the construction of their knowledge; for this reason, it is important to evaluate what is the impact of teaching natural sciences under this academic proposal, which rather than grant an internationally accepted document, seeks to form other types of capabilities in the students who are participants. These new proposals are accompanied by changes in the educational practices of teachers and, consequently, in the learning of their students.
