Abstract

This search creation recognize and empowerment of Palenque de San Basilio people through cultures practices that has been transmitted from ancestral years and allowed history constuction keeping thanks to oral tradition on this place. Is importante highlight that the braids of palenque are a practice inherited from african people were transported from África coast as if they were market to fulfill servile work and hard work on the new world. Ending XVI century and starting XVII was forged the firts organization of caribean maroons, who opposed to explotation and black people enslavement. This Movement went searching refuge between hidden lands from strategies that implemented a unique comunication code for avoid white mans will suspect about escape plans, in their hairstyles they drew scape roads, and for identify who were vulnerable; they saved arms and seeds in order to feed on unknown territories, survive if an attack arose or to manage bartering with those who were responsible for searching for escaped slaves. This proposal raises the context recognized through readings, experiences and methodological strategies of creation, where the conceptualization of terms rooted in the topic such as hairstyles categories, their names and their uses in Palenque, of this way allowed the narratives writing as the main component of this work.
