Resumen
Topographic surveys are affected by different factors, the minimization of these errors determines the accuracy obtained. The survey incorporates and takes advantage of technological procedures and developments in order to obtain more precise values every day. The global satellite navigation system - GNSS consists of three segments: the space segment, the control segment and the user segment and offers the possibility of obtaining the geographical position of a point. The accuracy depends on the satellite geometry from the user's position, the atmospheric conditions and the characteristics of the receiver, among others. The GNSS system has evolved to offer greater signal availability, reception techniques and devices have achieved real-time measurements with remarkable degree of accuracy. RTK (Real Time Kinematic) is a positioning technique based on the calculation of corrections in real time to the received signals. RTK is popularized due to increased performance and reliability in taking measurements, reducing cost pressure on projects. Its limitations are in high density environments of natural or anthropic elements. Some governments have considered it important to develop platforms and regulatory definitions that facilitate the use of this technology. Professionals and students should update their knowledge to respond to this new need in the measurement market.
