Servientrega SA is characterized by its leadership in the transportation of merchandise and messaging services nationwide, thanks to human talent, technology, financial resources and management commitment to facilitate the means to fulfill the mission and vision of the company. In this order of ideas, the company is concerned with the growth and consolidation of the business in the regional coffee axis, specifically in the city of Manizales, where it has a leased distribution center that currently faces two problems specifically. In the first place, the space in which it is currently located is insufficient, it needs a larger area to operate efficiently and have a greater installed capacity, which allows it to project the growth of its customers. In second instance, the state of the locative facilities and the infrastructure of the warehouse are not adequate for the operation of the activities of the company, since it has deteriorations in the roofs and floors, which require an investment for its repair and which the owner is not willing to make. According to the above, it was necessary to carry out a study to present to the management and economic committee of the company a proposal for the transfer of the logistics center of Manizales, taking into account the capacity needs required for the operation of collection and distribution of the merchandise, using the model of the cost of transportation rate-volume-distance, since it allows to measure and evaluate the costs of the proposed location, with respect to the location of the current winery, thus allowing to know the best alternative location and make the right decision for the relocation of the distribution center.
