Resumen
Comprehensive waste management programs (PGIR) seek to reduce the consumption of raw materials and link usable waste with the circular economy. In addition to properly managing waste that cannot be used, the initiative promotes more sustainable practices and conscious waste management resources. The document presents detailed information on the generation of waste in the company Gran Américas Usme S.A.S., as well as compliance with the environmental management training plan. Based on the established environmental objectives for 4 months, the results provide information on the control of waste generation. It is observed that the behavior of the generation is mainly aligned with the execution of maintenance routines as well as environmental education in the segregation of waste, and end of the useful life of resources, taking into account that it is the main source of generation within the company's operation. In this way, the economic evaluation of this behavior is reflected in compliance with the management indicators, through which it is determined that usable waste compensates for the treatment of hazardous waste, generating a profit margin during the months evaluated. At the same time, we are working hard to train administrative and operational staff focused on waste management, chemical substances and spill control.
