Resumen
From the research carried out, it was identified that in the Laachon Mayapo Rural Ethnoeducational Institution, solid waste is not properly managed. Taking into account the results obtained and the respective analysis, environmental contamination was evidenced in the institution, its surroundings and the different communities, which gives rise to the local environmental crisis. In this sense, due to the lack of environmental awareness of the students and inhabitants of the different communities, the need to adopt knowledge and experience around sustainable practices is identified, which lead to the minimization of waste and waste. in this way contribute to the preservation of the environment, strengthening pedagogical knowledge regarding ancestral knowledge, instilled from home, such as prior knowledge, facilitating unification with new knowledge, giving rise to environmental knowledge and a rationality oriented to put into practice reflexivity. The research was developed under a socio-critical approach, using the research-educational action strategy. Based on the results obtained, an environmental education proposal is designed, aimed at minimizing the local environmental crisis, which benefits students and society in general.
