Construcción de identidades de género de algunos integrantes de la comunidad colombia diversa a través de la mediación Youtube

Abstract

This thesis project gives an account of the process and the results of a qualitative research study entitled: Construcción de identidades de género de algunos integrantes de la comunidad Colombia Diversa a través de la mediación YouTube, having as a main goal to reveal the given relationships about the polemic in gender in the Colombian context, framed in this specific case in the participating actions carried out by Colombia Diversa Organization through some audiovisual narrative using YouTube as a broadcasting tool. In this way, this study proposes to show the meanings contained in the video in order to recognize different socio cultural processes that have emerged in the usage and appropriation of YouTube. The corpus used for this research was based on three videos, known as Re-tratos de familia, published a bit more than a year ago (2014), having as a principal topic aspects related to diversity and gender roles, the concept of family and same-sex marriage. In order to analyze the object of study the Critical Analysis of Multimodal Discourse methodology was applied, trying to include the different semiotic systems used in such constructions to analyze the impact of the genre discourse in the media scenery. The results will be shown like conclusions, taking into account the socio-cultural impact given by the new media to the personal aspects, specifically in the gender identity.
