Proyecto gravimetría – generación de base de datos con información de valores de gravedad del Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC)

Abstract

The need to generate a database with information of gravity values ​​for the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), is the basis of this project; which was carried out under the modality of internship. This project was carried out by providing support in the purification and analysis of gravimetric information, both digital and physical; in order to automate the treatment, consultation and access of information. The process to develop the project had two phases, the first was related to the whole refinement process, this process was carried out with the completion of official documents of the institute "Record of gravimetric observations"; to then store the records in the second phase corresponding to the database "CARTERAS RED SIGNAR", which was created in PgAdmin III (tool for the creation of PostgreSQL software databases - a free software compatible with all the different computer platforms); This tool is of great value for the project because it also allows managing the database giving us an easy handling of the information. Currently, after the development of this project, the Instituto Geográfico Agustín Codazzi (IGAC) has a database in which they can store the information of gravity, serving as a source of support and consultation; benefiting the geodesy department by facilitating the handling and manipulation of information and expanding the possibility of access to more people.
