Resumen
The city, understood as a geographic space that fosters the construction of socio-spatial fabrics within an environmental, economic, technological, political, and legal context, is marked by deep socio-spatial inequalities. These inequalities arise from the purchasing power of its inhabitants and the roles played by the state and private agents in urban planning. This study examines the phenomena of segregation and gentrification through the different types of rents associated with daily rental agreements in Bogotá D.C., Colombia. To this end, an econometric and geospatial analysis was conducted to explore the dynamics of Type II rent in the context of these socio-spatial phenomena. The findings reveal a significant social inequality gap that acts both as a cause and effect of segregation and gentrification, resulting from neoliberal urban planning.
