Correlación entre las dinámicas de fragmentación de coberturas vegetales y predial en la cuenca del río Cubillos

Abstract

The plant cover associated with the high mountain basins, are the most affected by the transformation in Colombia, afflicting with it the biodiversity and the ecosystem services that these offer; this problem is related to the constant farm fragmentation, since when smaller farm sizes are found, land uses towards productive systems intensify. This is why it is essential to understand the dynamics of change, for can generate planning on the territory and actions lead at the conservation and management of natural resources. This paper analyzes the dynamics of change in vegetation and farm coverage and lead to identify the correlation between these two dynamics in the Cubillos river basin (Cundinamarca-Colombia), through a multitemporal analysis during the period since 2006 to 2018. It found that 83.19% of the coverages remained, where the greatest changes were generate by the passage from forest to crops (387.33 hectares) and from grassy scrub to crops (321.842 hectares); the ecosystem was most affected for the homogenization of areas with productive systems is subparam and high andean forest. Finally, the results indicate if there is a correlation between the dynamics of change in vegetal cover and the change in farm size, and this dynamic is related to the availability of water resources in the basin.
