Programa en educación ambiental, enfocado a los residuos sólidos del barrio El Triunfo, localizado en la localidad San Cristóbal de Bogotá D.C.

Abstract

The present research arises from the need to generate a process of environmental education with emphasis on solid waste in the community of the El Triunfo neighborhood, located in the town of San Cristóbal in the south east of Bogotá, since in this territory there are both environmental and public health problems due to the inadequate management of solid waste, becoming a threat to biodiversity and the well-being of the local population. During the investigation, a series of information collection instruments were used in order to characterize the area and identify the perception of the inhabitants regarding the problems raised. From the analysis of the information obtained, it began with the design and Implementation of the proposal under playful methodological strategies based on environmental education focused on sensitizing and guiding young people, adolescents and children of the territory against the proper process of classification and management of solid waste, since according to various studies this practice contributes favorably to health and preservation of the environment. At the end, a post-test was carried out that allowed to identify the knowledge acquired from the participants during the environmental education process with emphasis on solid waste, leaving in evidence the change of perception, behaviors and attitudes of the actors in the proposed problem. The research shows that through environmental education and the commitment of the different territorial actors, scenarios are generated to modify consumption habits, the reduction of solid waste generated and their correct disposal.
